PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: October 2026 · Deutsche Fassung (the German version is legally binding)

This policy covers the website bossblok.app and the BOSSBLOK app for iPhone and iPad. In short: there is no server of my own for the game, no user accounts, and no data is sold. Your progress stays on your device and in your iCloud.

2. THE WEBSITE

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, date and time, the page requested and browser details in order to deliver the page and protect it from attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare acts as a processor and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising services and loads nothing from third parties. Fonts are self-hosted. Your language choice is kept only in your browser's storage.

3. THE APP

Progress on your device

Your profile (level, records, designs, running games, settings) is stored on your device. I do not receive this data.

iCloud

So you keep your progress on a new device, the app backs up your profile to the iCloud key-value storage of your Apple ID. This is handled by Apple; I have no access to it. You can turn it off under iCloud in the iPhone settings.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, the app sends scores, achievements and leaderboard results to Apple Game Center. Ranked duels against real players run as turn-based matches via Game Center. Your Game Center name and results are then visible to other players. Apple's privacy policy applies.

Duel and rescue codes

Friend duels and rescues work with codes that you send yourself (for example in a message). A code contains game data such as the board, the score and a random player number, plus your player name (the name from the app settings or your Game Center name). Choose a nickname there if you do not want to share your real name. The app does not send codes on its own.

Ads (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads via Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). On first launch the app asks for your consent (Google consent form) and, on iPhone and iPad, uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt to ask whether your device's advertising identifier may be used. If you agree, Google may use the advertising identifier, IP address and device information to show relevant ads and measure them (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you decline, you see non-personalised ads, and Google only processes what is needed to deliver them and prevent fraud. You can change your choice at any time in the app and in the iPhone settings (Privacy > Tracking). More: policies.google.com/privacy. Data may be transferred to the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

If you buy “Remove ads”, the app no longer loads any ads.

Purchases

The “Remove ads” purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. I receive no payment data.

Reminders

If you turn on the streak reminder, the app schedules notifications on your device. No data is sent for this.

Feedback

If you write via the feedback button or by email, I receive your message, your email address and the details the app adds to the message (app version, language, level, device type). I only use them to answer you and improve the game, and delete them when they are no longer needed.

4. CHILDREN

BOSSBLOK is not specifically directed at children under 13.

5. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to feedback@bossblok.app. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Data that is only on your device is deleted when you delete the app. You can remove the iCloud copy in the iPhone settings under Apple ID > iCloud.

6. CHANGES

If the app changes, I will update this policy. The version published here applies.
